How does link shortening work?
Links shared on write-your-notes.com will automatically be processed and shortened to an w-n.es link. Please note: anyone with a w-n.es shortened link will be able to navigate to the destination URL.
Why does write-your-notes.com have its own link shortener?
Shortened links allow you to share long URLs in a Note while maintaining the maximum number of characters for your message (1000 characters).
Our link service measures information such as how many times a link has been clicked, which is an important quality signal in determining how relevant.
How to use it?
From the text box on the home page of w-n.es you can enter a URL, check the Google recaptcha and press the "Shorten" button. It will result in a URL in the format https://w-n.es/{XXXXX}. From the web write-your-notes.com you make use of the URL trimmer when entering a text with a URL in the body of a note and/or in the "Shorten" section of the application.
In any of the cases described above, you can copy the resulting URL and make use of it on any site.
Why can the same link that was entered appear?
You may have entered a link in write-your-notes.com or w-n.es to be shortened and shown the same URL. The reason is that URLs under 25 characters are not shortened. URLs that do not respond to a TCP request are not shortened either; because it is considered a dead connection. But if you consider that it is an error and that it is not working properly, you can communicate it to us from the contact form.
